Optical perception measures the speed of your visual recognition. For this you will be shown nine instruments (depending on setting), as illustrated on the picture.

Your task is to note the position of the pointers of four of the instruments. The instruments you should note are described to you before the in-blending. The instruments to be noted are also described as "critical instruments".
